Hotel on North

Amazing experience here from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. Andrew at the front desk was killing it on NYE. Buzzing people into the gate, checking us in, delivering plasticware when we realized our take out didnt give us any. The smells here are fantastic. The room exceeded our expectations. We had a superior king with a pull out, and didnt except the pull out to basically have its own room! We thought it would've been cool if the doorway leading to the pull out couch area had a curtain on a rod as a barrier, but it felt very private when we were all in bed. The coffee in the room was delicious as well. The old time feel mixed with the new furnishings of the room felt modern but relaxing. Sometimes modern places can feel stiff, but the old wood floors of the room made it feel like home. I dropped a necklace behind the dresser and had to go underneath to retrieve it, could use a dusting under furniture, but id say the same for is true for 99% of airbnbs and hotels. If youre on the fence, stay here! We also ventured over to the holiday inn because our friends were staying there, and its a bit chaotic there. Nothing like the calming peaceful environment at Hotel on North. We will stay here again for sure if were ever pulled to pittsfield again.

Absolutely fabulous stay! The attention to detail of the decor and architecture was amazing, and I love that so much of it is in support of local artists and also honors the history of the building. Would recommend to anyone looking for a place in the Berkshires. We stayed in the Library Suite and it was one of the most stunning hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. I so admire them bringing life and style to this town. Restaurant looked amazing too, but we did not make it there.

My husband and I flew across country to Pittsfield for surgery. I chose The Hotel on North at first because of it’s proximity to the hospital and it looked so charming. From the very first phone call, I knew this hotel was different. The service is top notch. Andrew helped coordinate my stay and is an extraordinary host. He understood my needs for after surgery and put me in a room that suited my needs and exceeded my expectations. We felt like we were staying at a friend’s lovely home rather than a hotel. It was quiet, cozy, very comfortable and with room to move around. The staff was always available if we needed something. Having surgery is no vacation, but recovering in a place you feel safe and well cared for is rare when you’re not at home. The restaurant that shares space with the hotel is also wonderful and they offer room service. We enjoyed a few delicious meals delivered to our room Whether you are coming for vacation or for surgery, I recommend this lovely beautifully renovated hotel. Very nice, independent hotel. Straight forward and friendly check-in. We had a large king corner room with a nice big bathroom including a free standing soaking tub which was very comfortable, and a double shower space. Plenty of towels, 2 robes, and nice smelling soaps, etc. The room had original art on the walls, with details about the artist - just like in a gallery. Bed and bedding were very comfortable. Nice sized desk, and sink/fridge area, along with a couple of relaxing armchairs. The flooring seems to be original warehouse wood flooring, and the room even had a large bench/pew seat which was perfect for taking shoes on and off. Very centrally located hotel. No real noise from the street. Free parking at the back of the hotel. Very nice lounge seating areas on the ground floor and the 2nd floor. Steakhouse on the ground floor. Didn’t eat there but the wine tasted ok. We will definitely stay again.

Such a cool place. So well appointment for its historic context with amazing new modern baths and beds. Super cool thoughtful moments created throughout hotel in small communal spaces. Also has a fun kids play room as added bonus! Restaurant is great and bar has perfect, fitting, atmosphere and high quality cocktails. One downside is you can slightly hear Neigbors rooms, but that’s also the beauty of a true quality historic restoration vs a cheesy tear down and gut. Lastly, staff is so nice!

Lovely boutique hotel in Pittsfield. Big rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, great decor and nice bar and restaurant. Only small hiccups were that they were out of robes (avail on request- but apparently didn’t have them) and the TV was a little wonky / couldn’t really use the guide- needed more than one remote. But other than that - staff was very nice and loved the vibe!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful stay here. The building itself is a beautifully restored historic property, full of character, unique rooms, and thoughtfully curated decor throughout. Every space felt intentional and inviting, with so many cool details to take in. It was a memorable experience and a great place to stay in Pittsfield. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for something special and different.

Nice historic hotel close to the Berkshires. Room rate was very reasonable for one night. Definitely recommend the hotel if you want to be walking distance from restaurants and bars. Hotel and room were very clean and well maintained. Lots of historical charm and definitely prefer staying at locally owned places vs corporate chains. Great choice for a place to stay for skiing or other activities in the area.
